The Medical Staff Service Department at SUNY Upstate Medical University is currently looking for a Credentialing Coordinator to be responsible for credentialing, recredentialing, and privileging of practitioners in accordance with organizational policies and procedures. Responsibilities include, but are not limited to, performing all assigned activities associated with initial and re-appointments, including verification, peer recommendations, and follow-up on concerns that may delay completion of the credentialing or privileging process and tracking and updating database to reflect current compliance with credentialing and privileging elements.

Knowledge of managed care enrollment desirable. Credentialing experience preferred. Certification as either Provider Credentialing Specialist (CPCS) or Professional in Medical Services Management (CPMSM) from the National Association of Medical Staff Services preferred.
